plasma care
Cold plasma. In the hand.
plasma care produces cold atmospheric plasma from the surrounding air using micro-discharges across a thin ceramic plasma source. The clinician places a sterile single-use spacer over the wound, and each area is treated for one to three minutes without touching the wound bed. The manufacturer states that the plasma inactivates bacteria, including multi-resistant strains, as well as viruses, fungi and spores, and supports wound healing. A wireless docking station charges the battery for around 120 applications.
Key specifications
Why the plasma care
Plasma from room air
No gas cylinders or carrier gas: the device generates cold plasma directly from the surrounding air, so it can be carried from bed to bed.
Contact-free treatment
A sterile spacer holds the plasma source at a fixed distance over the wound. Each area is treated for one to three minutes.
One spacer, one patient
An RFID check stops the device if a used spacer is attached again, helping prevent cross-contamination between patients.
Designed for hygiene
A sealed plastic housing with no openings and inductive charging means the device can be wipe-disinfected between patients.
Where it is used
Hospital wound care teams, outpatient wound clinics, community nursing and podiatry, for acute and chronic wounds. The maker also offers it for bacterial and fungal skin conditions.

How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents available for your country.
How long does a treatment take?
Each wound area is treated for at least one minute and up to three minutes when heavily contaminated. Covering a full spacer area of up to 73 cm² takes about six minutes.
What consumables does it need?
One sterile single-use spacer per treatment. Neighbouring wounds on the same body part can share a spacer; wounds on different body parts need separate spacers.
Are there wounds it should not be used on?
The maker does not recommend treating heavily bleeding wounds or wounds whose dressings cannot be removed. It is approved for post-operative care, not for intra-operative use.
How is it charged and cleaned?
It charges wirelessly in its docking station, for about 120 treatments per charge. The surface is wipe-disinfected after each patient; the plasma source is cleaned only when visibly soiled.
