Kerecis
Intact fish skin. For healing wounds.
Kerecis Omega3 Wound is naturally occurring, lyophilised acellular fish skin that maintains and supports a healing environment in wounds where viable red tissue is visible. The sheet is cut to the wound, pre-hydrated in sterile saline for 30–180 seconds and placed scaly side up, then covered with a non-adherent secondary dressing. It is designed to stay in the wound bed; a new sheet is added when the previous one has been absorbed. The skin retains natural components such as fat, protein, elastin and glycans.
Key specifications
Why the Kerecis Omega3 Wound
Intact, not reconstituted
The fish skin is decellularised and freeze-dried while keeping its natural structure and components, rather than being broken down and rebuilt.
Stays in the wound
The sheet is designed to remain in the wound bed and is gradually absorbed. A new sheet is placed only when the previous one is no longer visible.
Simple to prepare
Cut to shape, soak in sterile saline for 30–180 seconds and apply scaly side up under a non-adherent secondary dressing.
