Granulox
Oxygen, sprayed on.
When Granulox is sprayed onto a wound, highly purified haemoglobin binds oxygen from the surrounding air and diffuses through the wound exudate, supplying the wound base with oxygen. It is used alongside standard wound care for diabetic foot ulcers, venous, arterial and mixed leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and surgical wounds healing by secondary intention. It is applied at each dressing change, at least every three days, under an air-permeable dressing. A single 12 ml can is a portable, ready-to-use format for clinic and home care.
Key specifications
Why the Granulox
Oxygen through exudate
Exudate blocks most oxygen diffusion. Granulox haemoglobin binds oxygen from the air and carries it through the exudate layer to the wound base.
Fits the dressing routine
Sprayed on at each dressing change, at least every three days, then covered with the usual moist, air-permeable dressing.
Ready to use
A single 12 ml spray can, with no device, power or tubing, suits clinic, ward and home visits.
Know the precautions
Not for use in pregnancy, with occlusive films or hydrocolloids, or at the same time as locally acting medicines such as topical antibiotics. Rinse after antiseptics.
Where it is used
Diabetic foot and vascular clinics, community nursing, tissue viability services and long-term care, as an adjunct to standard wound care.
