ALLEVYN LIFE is a five-layer bordered dressing: a perforated silicone gel contact layer, hydrocellular foam, the EXULOCK lock-away core that spreads and holds exudate, the EXUMASK layer with a change indicator, and a breathable, showerproof top film. ALLEVYN GENTLE BORDER is a triple-layer dressing with a hydrocellular foam core under a breathable, showerproof film, made for fragile skin and difficult areas such as the knee and elbow.

Locks fluid away
In ALLEVYN LIFE, the EXULOCK layer absorbs exudate, including viscous exudate, and spreads it across the dressing to lock it in, helping to minimise leakage.
Shows when to change
The EXUMASK layer masks exudate and acts as a change indicator: consider a change when exudate covers half of it and change at three quarters, following clinical assessment.
Gentle on fragile skin
Silicone gel adhesive lets staff apply, reposition and remove the dressing easily, and Smith+Nephew reports less pain and trauma at dressing changes with ALLEVYN GENTLE BORDER.
Part of prevention
ALLEVYN LIFE is indicated for pressure ulcer prevention on intact skin and ALLEVYN GENTLE BORDER has been shown to support prevention protocols; neither replaces repositioning, suitable mattresses and skin care.
