Masimo
EtCO₂ in the palm of your hand.
EMMA clips straight onto the breathing circuit through a single-patient-use airway adapter and measures CO₂ by infrared absorption. It reaches full accuracy in about 15 seconds, displays EtCO₂ every breath and respiration rate after two breaths, and runs for up to 10 hours on two AAA lithium batteries. It needs no routine calibration and is used in pre-hospital care, emergency medicine, the operating room and intensive care.
Key specifications
Why the EMMA
Reading in 15 seconds
EMMA reaches full accuracy in about 15 seconds, then shows EtCO₂ every breath and respiration rate after two breaths, with a live waveform.
Sits on the circuit
A mainstream design that fits directly between the airway device and the circuit, with no sampling line or pump.
Runs on AAA batteries
Two standard AAA cells give up to 10 hours with lithium or 6 hours with alkaline, easy to replace in the field.
Built for the field
A rugged 59.5 g device that operates from −5 to 50 °C and needs no routine calibration.
Where it is used
Ambulances and air medical transport, emergency departments, operating rooms, intensive care, recovery and tactical medicine.

Questions
Is the EMMA available in the UAE and the GCC?
KGG sources the Masimo EMMA capnograph and its airway adapters on request for EMS, hospital and military buyers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability is confirmed with each quotation.
What does it need to work?
An EMMA airway adapter is required for every patient: adult/paediatric (PN 17448) or infant (PN 17449). The kit itself contains the capnograph, pouch and lanyard, and runs on two AAA batteries.
Mainstream or sidestream: what is the difference?
EMMA is mainstream: it measures CO₂ directly at the airway adapter on the breathing circuit, so there is no sampling tube or pump. Sidestream monitors draw a gas sample through a line to a separate analyser.
Will it work in Gulf summer heat?
Masimo specifies operation from −5 to 50 °C and storage from −30 to 70 °C. Avoid leaving it in direct sun or a closed vehicle above these limits.
Does it display mmHg or kPa?
Both versions exist: PN 3639 displays mmHg and PN 3678 displays kPa. Tell us which unit your service uses when requesting a quote.
