RespiCOz
Capnography on your phone.
RespiCOz places a mainstream NDIR CO₂ sensor on the airway adapter and sends readings by Bluetooth to the free RespiCOz Android app, which shows the values, the waveform and the trend. Clinicians set upper and lower limits for EtCO₂, FiCO₂ and respiratory rate, and the app alarms when a limit is crossed or no breath is detected. It is designed for patients with a secured airway, such as an endotracheal tube or supraglottic device, in operating theatres, ICUs, emergency departments and during transport.
Key specifications
Why the RespiCOz
The waveform on your phone
Values, capnogram and trend appear in the RespiCOz Android app, so the monitor travels with the clinician rather than sitting on a fixed console.
Mainstream, no sampling line
The NDIR sensor sits directly on the airway adapter, with no sampling line, water trap or pump to block with moisture or secretions.
Alarms you set
Upper and lower limits for EtCO₂, FiCO₂ and respiratory rate, plus an alarm when no breath is detected.
FiCO₂ as well as EtCO₂
Inspired CO₂ is displayed alongside end-tidal CO₂, which helps detect rebreathing, for example from exhausted soda lime or a faulty valve.
Where it is used
Operating theatres, intensive care, emergency departments and patient transport, for intubated patients or those with a supraglottic airway.

Questions
Is the RespiCOz available in the UAE and the GCC?
KGG sources RespiCOz on request for hospitals and clinics in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability is confirmed with each quotation.
Which phones does it work with?
Brainiac Healthcare states that RespiCOz works with Android phones and tablets through the free RespiCOz app on Google Play. iOS support is not mentioned.
Which patients is it for?
Patients with a secured airway, such as an endotracheal tube or a supraglottic device, monitored by anaesthetists, intensivists, emergency physicians and transport teams.
How is it powered?
The maker specifies a 12 V DC, 1 A power adapter. An internal battery is not stated, so confirm power arrangements for transport use when you request a quote.
What is the difference between a capnometer and a capnograph?
A capnometer shows only the CO₂ number. A capnograph such as RespiCOz also shows the waveform, which often reveals the cause of a problem before the number changes.
