Keeler

Pressure measured. Eye untouched.

The Pulsair IntelliPuff measures intraocular pressure with a soft puff of air and an opto-electronic sensor, so no anaesthetic drops, probes or sterile consumables are needed. The patient does not need a chinrest: the operator brings the handheld unit to the eye, a time-on-target alignment system confirms position and the reading is taken automatically. The puff starts light and increases automatically for higher pressures. The base unit mounts on a wall or sits on a desk, using less than half the space of a conventional non-contact tonometer, and prints readings for both eyes.

Why the Pulsair IntelliPuff

No touch, no drops

A puff of air flattens the cornea and an optical sensor reads the response. There are no probes to replace, no anaesthetic and no sterile consumables.

Taken to the patient

The handheld unit goes to the patient, so no chinrest is needed. Keeler shows it used with patients seated and lying down.

Aligned, then automatic

A position-detection display and time-on-target system guide alignment; the measurement fires automatically as soon as the eye is in position.

A gentler puff

The puff starts softer and lighter and increases automatically only when the pressure is higher, which Keeler designed for patient comfort.

Half the footprint

The base unit mounts on a wall or stands on a desk and takes less than half the space of a conventional non-contact tonometer. Readings print for both eyes.

Where it is used

Optometry practices, ophthalmology clinics, glaucoma screening programmes, eye departments and domiciliary or ward-based eye checks.

Questions

Is the Pulsair IntelliPuff available in the UAE and the GCC?

KGG sources the Pulsair IntelliPuff on request for optometry practices, eye clinics, hospitals and screening programmes in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability is confirmed with each quotation.

Does it need anaesthetic drops or disposable probes?

No. It is a non-contact air-puff tonometer, so nothing touches the eye. Keeler states no sterile consumables are required; the only running item is thermal printer paper.

How does it differ from the Pulsair Desktop?

Both share the same measuring system and the 5–50 mmHg range under one FDA clearance. The IntelliPuff is handheld with an eyepiece and manual eye selection; the Desktop is desk-mounted and joystick-driven, with a camera, TFT screen and up to four readings plus an average.

Can it replace Goldmann applanation tonometry?

Keeler's cleared use is to aid glaucoma screening, alongside other tests such as visual field screening; it does not diagnose glaucoma on its own. Corneal thickness, scarring and dry eye can affect readings, so clinicians confirm borderline results with applanation tonometry.

Will it run on Gulf mains power?

Yes. The Keeler power supply accepts 100–240 V ±10 % at 50/60 Hz and delivers 12 V, 2.5 A to the unit. Use only the Keeler-approved power supply.
