iCare
Guided alignment. Automatic measurement.
The iCare IC1000 keeps iCare's rebound principle, a single-use probe with no anaesthetic, air puff or calibration, and adds GuideCam: a camera that analyses distance and inclination in real time and shows positioning instructions on the touchscreen. In AUTO mode the measurement starts by itself once alignment is correct, which iCare designed to reduce variability between users. It measures patients from upright to reclined and supine, runs on a user-replaceable Li-ion battery, and docks in a ChargingCradle or a SmartCradle that adds network connectivity and transfer to the iCare ALTIUS cloud.
Key specifications
Why the iCare IC1000
The camera guides the hand
GuideCam reads distance and inclination in real time and shows clear positioning instructions on screen, so less experienced staff reach the correct measurement position faster.
Measures on cue
AUTO mode triggers the measurement as soon as GuideCam confirms correct alignment. Quick Measure delivers a result with fewer rebounds when the patient finds it hard to keep still.
From chair to bed
Measure patients upright, sitting or standing, reclined or supine. iCare designed the IC1000 for a wide range of patients, including anxious patients and those who can only be measured lying down.
No more AA batteries
A rechargeable, user-replaceable Li-ion battery charges in the cradle between uses, so the tonometer is ready for the next patient without battery changes.
Connected by SmartCradle
The SmartCradle adds Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, remote software updates and iCare ALTIUS integration, with patient-linked worklists and automatic IOP data transfer where available.
Where it is used
High-volume ophthalmology and optometry clinics, hospital eye departments, glaucoma services, wards and recovery areas where supine measurement is needed.

Questions
Is the iCare IC1000 available in the UAE and the GCC?
KGG sources the iCare IC1000 and its cradles on request for eye clinics, hospitals and optometry practices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability and lead time are confirmed with each quotation.
How does the IC1000 differ from the IC100 and IC200?
All three use iCare rebound technology with the same 7–50 mmHg range and stated accuracy. The IC100 measures sitting or standing patients; the IC200 adds supine and reclined positions. The IC1000 also measures from upright to supine and adds GuideCam camera alignment, AUTO mode, a touchscreen, a rechargeable battery and cradle-based connectivity. The IC100 and IC200 remain on sale.
Is the IC1000 FDA cleared?
Not yet. iCare states that the IC1000 is not available for sale in the United States and that FDA review is ongoing. Its brochure carries the CE mark. As with every device we supply, it is delivered subject to registration in each destination country.
What does the SmartCradle add over the ChargingCradle?
Both charge and store the tonometer. The SmartCradle adds Ethernet and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, remote software updates and integration with the iCare ALTIUS cloud for worklists and automatic IOP transfer. A ChargingCradle can be upgraded to a SmartCradle later.
Which probes does it use?
The IC1000 uses iCare single-use probes and needs no calibration or disinfection between patients. iCare has not yet published the IC1000 probe part number in its public material; we confirm the correct probe and pack size with the quotation.
