Optomed

The retina, in your hand.

The Optomed Aurora IQ captures colour, red-free and infrared retinal images with a 50° field of view, usually without dilating the pupil, in a 526 g handheld camera. Smart Autofocus, Auto Exposure and Image Quality Indicators help non-ophthalmologist users capture and judge usable images, and nine internal fixation targets extend coverage for peripheral imaging. An optional anterior module documents the front of the eye, and images transfer over WLAN or USB for diabetic retinopathy screening and optic nerve assessment.

Does it include AI diabetic retinopathy detection?

Not as standard. The AI version, Optomed Aurora AEYE with AEYE Health's AEYE-DS software, is FDA-cleared in the USA, and Optomed states it is available only in the USA. Ask us about AI options approved for your country.

Do patients need dilating drops?
