Hemochron
Clotting time, at the bedside.
The Hemochron Signature Elite runs single-use Hemochron Jr. test cuvettes that measure fibrin clot formation in whole blood. One instrument covers high- and low-range heparin monitoring (ACT+ and ACT-LR) and PT and APTT on fresh or citrated samples. Built-in electronic QC, cuvette and QC expiry lockouts, operator tracking and a barcode scanner support compliance, and results transfer by Ethernet to POCT1-A data managers.
Key specifications
Why the Hemochron Signature Elite
One analyser, full menu
ACT+ and ACT-LR cover high- and low-dose heparin, while PT and APTT cover both coagulation pathways, on fresh or citrated whole blood.
Low-range ACT
Werfen indicates the ACT-LR assay for low-dose heparin in ECLS, PCI, vascular, neurointerventional and dialysis procedures, with a 0.0–2.5 U/mL range.
Built for compliance
Automatic electronic QC, lockouts for expired cuvettes and QC, and operator lockout help keep point-of-care testing within policy.
Connected results
Ethernet and POCT1-A connectivity send results to the hospital data manager, and the instrument stores 600 patient and 600 QC results.
Where it is used
Cardiovascular operating rooms, cardiac catheterisation labs, interventional neuroradiology, emergency departments, intensive care, trauma surgery and anticoagulation clinics.

How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can quote cuvettes and controls with the analyser.
Which cuvette do I need?
ACT+ for high-dose heparin (1.0–6.0 U/mL), ACT-LR for low-dose heparin (0.0–2.5 U/mL), and PT or APTT for coagulation screening, each in fresh or citrated versions.
Are the cuvettes medicines?
No. Hemochron cuvettes are in vitro diagnostic reagents used with the analyser. Shipping and storage conditions differ by assay and are confirmed with the quotation.
Is there an affected cuvette recall?
In November 2025 certain ACT-LR cuvette lots were recalled in the USA for a possible sharp-edged foreign object. We confirm with Werfen that quoted lots are unaffected.
Can it connect to our hospital system?
Yes. It connects directly by Ethernet and is POCT1-A compliant, so results can pass to major point-of-care data management systems.
