Bolin
Three valves. One firm seal.
The Bolin Chest Seal is a sterile occlusive dressing for open pneumothorax and tension pneumothorax caused by gunshots, stab wounds or other penetrating chest trauma. A rugged 15.25 cm polyurethane disc resists wrinkling during application, and a patented triple-valve design vents air and fluid from the wound. The thick hydrogel layer seals to the skin but can be lifted and reapplied, and each pouch includes a gauze wipe for cleaning and drying the site first.
Key specifications
Why the Bolin Chest Seal
Three valves, centred
The patented triple valve sits in the middle of the disc. Centre the valves over the wound during exhalation and press down for a complete seal.
A disc that stays flat
The rugged 15.25 cm polyurethane disc resists wrinkling as it goes on, a common cause of air leaks with thinner films.
Lift and reapply
The thick hydrogel holds firmly but can be removed and reapplied if the seal needs repositioning.
Wipe included
Every pouch has a gauze wipe to clean and dry the skin around the wound before the dressing goes on.
Where it is used
Military and tactical medicine, EMS and ambulance services, law-enforcement kits and emergency departments.
