The SAM XT controls severe limb bleeding with a buckle that auto-locks into the belt once sufficient circumferential force is applied, so every application starts from a consistent baseline tension before the windlass is turned. Because almost all slack is removed first, fewer windlass turns are needed. The flexible TRUFLEX plate adapts to different limb sizes, the angled C-hooks make windlass locking easier, and a night-vision-optimised time band records when it was applied.

Consistent tension
The TRUFORCE buckle locks into the belt at a predetermined circumferential force, removing nearly all slack and giving every user the same baseline before the windlass is turned.
Fewer windlass turns
With slack controlled by the buckle, occlusion is reached with fewer windlass turns than traditional windlass tourniquets, according to SAM Medical.
Adjustable and removable

What does the TRUFORCE buckle actually do?
It locks into the strap holes only once enough circumferential force has been applied, so slack is removed to a consistent level before the windlass is used. The buckle has a tab for unlocking, readjustment and removal.
What limb sizes does it fit?
SAM Medical's data sheet states a limb circumference range of 13.9 cm to 88.9 cm (5.5 in to 35 in).
Which colour should we order?
Tactical Black for military and tactical kits, Hi-Viz Orange where visibility in a kit matters. Confirm with us whether Hi-Viz Blue is supplied as an operational or training unit for your order.
Can it be reused?
No. The SAM XT is labelled single use; after use it should be disposed of according to facility protocol for biological waste.
