AccuVein
See the vein. Then the needle.
The AV500 scans the skin with near-infrared laser light and projects the vein pattern back onto the surface in bright green, showing veins, bifurcations and valves that are hard to see or feel. Patented True Center alignment is set in the factory, so no user alignment test is needed, and the image stays in focus 15–25 cm above the skin. It weighs 283 g, needs no skin contact and has a sealed housing with no fans or vents. It can be held in one hand or mounted on an arm or powered stand for hands-free cannulation.
Key specifications
Why the AccuVein AV500
Veins you cannot see
Near-infrared imaging shows superficial veins, bifurcations and valves on the skin surface, helping clinicians choose a site before inserting a needle or cannula.
Aligned at the factory
True Center technology shows the vein's centre line at any working distance, with no user alignment test before use.
All skin tones
AccuVein states the AV500 gives a clear, uniform vein image across skin tones, with adjustable brightness and an inverse mode for different lighting.
Handheld or hands-free
At 283 g it is easy to hold for a quick scan, then drops into a flex arm or powered stand to keep both hands free for cannulation.
Clean and simple
No skin contact, a sealed housing without fans or vents, and one-button start make it quick to use and wipe down between patients.
Where it is used
