StatStrip
Lactate in 13 seconds.
StatStrip Lactate measures blood lactate from a 0.6 µL drop of whole blood on a single-use, gold-layer biosensor, with results in 13 seconds and no coding or calibration at the bedside. Nova's Multi-Well electrochemical design corrects for haematocrit and is designed to avoid interference from substances such as ascorbic acid, N-acetylcysteine, xylose and galactose. The hospital meter adds a touchscreen, barcode scanner, positive patient ID and NovaNet data connectivity; the pocket-size StatStrip Xpress Lactate keeps the same strip performance for settings that do not need data interfacing.
Key specifications
Why the StatStrip Lactate
Three steps, 13 seconds
Insert the biosensor, touch it to a 0.6 µL drop of blood and read lactate 13 seconds later. Strips need no calibration or coding at the bedside.
Designed against interference
Nova's Multi-Well electrochemical strip corrects for haematocrit and is designed to avoid interference from ascorbic acid, N-acetylcysteine, xylose and galactose.
No short-sample results
The meter reads only when blood reaches the fourth well, so an under-dosed strip does not report a result.
Connected or compact
The hospital meter has a touchscreen, barcode scanner, positive patient ID and NovaNet connectivity to LIS/EMR. The 75 g Xpress model suits settings that do not need data interfacing.
Where it is used
Emergency departments, ICUs, operating theatres, general wards and ambulances, wherever early lactate assessment supports timely decisions.
