ZOLL
One ventilator. Every mission.
The EMV+ 731 Series is a compressor-driven ventilator that runs on ambient air, so it does not need oxygen to operate, and accepts high- or low-pressure oxygen including portable concentrators. It offers AC, SIMV, CPAP and bi-level modes with volume or pressure targets, altitude compensation to 7,620 m and Smart Help on-screen guidance for alarms. It is airworthiness-certified for US Air Force and Army aircraft and designed for ambulances, aircraft and austere environments.
Key specifications
Why the EMV+
No oxygen needed to run
An integrated high-flow compressor ventilates with ambient air, and the EMV+ can add oxygen from cylinders, pipelines or low-flow portable concentrators to reach FiO₂ up to 100%.
Ten hours on battery
The internal battery runs for 10 hours and recharges to 90% in 2 hours, with AC, DC and military vehicle power as alternatives.
Full patient range
Volume and pressure modes from 50 ml to 2 litres cover infants from 5 kg through adults, with plateau pressure and inverse-ratio settings.
Built for flight
Altitude compensation to 25,000 ft and US airworthiness release for fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft; Silent and Dark mode for night-vision operations.
Smart Help
When an alarm sounds, the screen shows the likely cause and the steps to resolve it, which supports teams who use the ventilator only occasionally.
Where it is used
Military and civil defence medical units, air ambulances, ground ambulances, inter-hospital transfer, field hospitals and disaster response.

How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, including circuit and accessory options.
Does it need an oxygen cylinder?
No. The internal compressor ventilates with ambient air. Oxygen can be added from a 55 psig source or a low-flow source such as a portable oxygen concentrator when a higher FiO₂ is needed.
Can it be used on children?
Yes. ZOLL specifies the EMV+ for patients from infants of 5 kg or more through adults, with tidal volumes from 50 ml.
Will it work in Gulf summer heat?
ZOLL rates it for operation from −26 to 55 °C. The battery does not charge above 49 °C, so in very hot vehicles plan to charge it in a cooler place.
What was the 2024 FDA recall?
It was a correction to the operator's guide of MRI-compatible 731 ventilators, adding safe-distance information for MRI rooms. The ventilator itself was not withdrawn; current guides include the update.
