Volk
Widefield retina. Pocket-sized.
VistaView combines Volk's retinal optics with an integrated Nokia XR20 smartphone running the VistaView app. With the pupil dilated to at least 4 mm it captures a 55 × 42 degree field of the retina, macula and optic disc, with autofocus, manual focus from −15 to +15 D and voice-activated capture. Images save as JPEG, DNG or DICOM inside patient files in the app, ready for review and reports. At 560 g it travels between rooms, wards and outreach sites, and a slit-lamp adapter is available.
Key specifications
Why the VistaView
55 degrees, dilated
With the pupil dilated to at least 4 mm, each image covers 55 × 42 degrees of the retina, macula and optic disc.
Volk optics, phone inside
Volk's optics are coupled to an integrated Nokia XR20 smartphone running the VistaView app, so capture, patient files and review stay in one device.
Hands-free capture
Autofocus, manual focus from −15 to +15 D and voice-activated capture let the operator keep both hands on the patient and the camera.
Files that fit your system
Images save as JPEG, DNG or DICOM, and the app generates reports with notes. A red-free filter helps visualise the retinal vessels.
Light enough to carry
At 560 g and 88 × 202 × 103 mm, with a USB-C rechargeable battery and a carry case, it moves easily between rooms, wards and outreach sites.
Where it is used
Optometry practices, ophthalmology clinics, home-visit eye care, wards, teaching and screening outreach where pupils are dilated.

Questions
Is the VistaView available in the UAE and the GCC?
KGG sources the Volk VistaView on request for optometry practices, eye clinics, hospitals and outreach programmes in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability is confirmed with each quotation.
Does the patient need to be dilated?
Yes. VistaView is a mydriatic camera: Volk specifies a minimum pupil of 4 mm and states the eye must be dilated for imaging. For undilated screening, a non-mydriatic camera is the better choice.
Which smartphone does it use?
It is supplied as an integrated system with a Nokia XR20 Android phone running the VistaView app. Volk's warranty covers the lens attachment, the app and the Android device together.
Can it be used in Gulf heat or outdoors?
Volk specifies indoor use at +10 to +35 °C and 30–80 % humidity, with transport from −20 to +50 °C. Keep it in air-conditioned rooms and out of parked vehicles.
Can it be mounted on a slit lamp?
Yes. Volk lists a VistaView slit-lamp adapter (VVISTAVIEW2SLA) as a separate item, which we can quote with the camera.
