EarPopper
Pressure balanced. Without drops.
The EarPopper is held against one nostril while the other is closed; the user presses the button and swallows, and the airflow opens the Eustachian tube at the moment of swallowing. Summit Medical indicates it for the treatment of negative middle ear pressure, including otitis media with effusion, Eustachian tube dysfunction and ear fullness caused by air travel and diving. It is used by the patient or a parent after consulting a physician, by adults and children from 4 years with adult supervision.
Key specifications
Why the EarPopper
Opens on the swallow
A steady stream of air enters the nose; when the user swallows, the Eustachian tube opens and air reaches the middle ear, relieving negative pressure and allowing fluid to drain.
No medication or surgery
Summit Medical presents the EarPopper as a mechanical option for middle ear pressure problems, used at home after a physician has shown the technique.
Made for children too
Indicated for adults and children aged 4 and over with adult supervision. The removable nosepiece is for one patient and is washed with mild soap and water.
Simple to run
One button, four AAA batteries and more than four hours of continuous operation. One treatment is two nostrils, repeated after five minutes.
Where it is used
ENT and audiology clinics, paediatric practices, aviation and diving medicine, and at home under a physician's advice.
