Velacur ONE places an activation pad under the patient's back to send multi-frequency shear waves through the liver, similar in principle to MR elastography. The operator sweeps the probe, guided by an AI organ overlay on the B-mode image and a wave quality detector, to build a 3D volumetric measurement. Liver stiffness, attenuation and VDFF are shown immediately, so results can be discussed in the same visit. Sonic Incytes states VDFF correlates with MRI-PDFF (r = 0.85) and aids the management of chronic liver disease including MASLD and MASH.
