iCare
Visual field. Retina. One exam.
The iCare COMPASS runs standard automated perimetry with ZEST Fast, ZEST and full-threshold strategies, while a 25 Hz retinal tracker repositions each stimulus to follow the eye. That compensation for fixation losses ties every sensitivity value to its exact place on a 60° TrueColor confocal image of the retina and optic nerve head. Auto-alignment and auto-focus remove the need for trial lenses, and patients can blink, rest or pause without losing data. Exam and Smart Progression Analysis reports support glaucoma diagnosis and follow-up.
Key specifications
Why the iCare COMPASS
Tracked, not just tested
A 25 Hz retinal tracker follows eye movements and repositions each stimulus before and during projection, compensating for fixation losses that can produce artefacts in standard perimetry.
Standard grids, faster
Full compatibility with standard 24-2, 30-2 and 10-2 testing. iCare reports ZEST Fast cuts test time by 30% in glaucoma patients and 40% in healthy eyes versus ZEST.
Function on structure
Every exam includes 60° TrueColor, infrared and red-free confocal images, so sensitivity values sit on the retina and optic nerve head they were measured from.
Easy for patients
Auto-focus removes trial lenses, auto-alignment positions the eye, and patients can blink, close their eyes or rest without operator intervention or data loss.
Built for follow-up
Smart Progression Analysis reports global and cluster trends, progression events and point-wise change, with baseline and follow-up optic disc images side by side.
Where it is used
Glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology clinics, hospital eye departments, general ophthalmology and optometry practices that need visual fields and retinal imaging in one device.
In the box
COMPASS device with integrated computer, tablet with support bracket and magnetic light shield, as described in the user manual. SmartMosaic and Remote Viewer are software licences. Instrument table and configuration are confirmed with the quotation.
Clearance & compliance
FDA 510(k) cleared K150320 (2015); 21 CFR 886.1570 and 886.1605, Class II, product codes MYC and HPT; intended for taking digital images of a human retina without a mydriatic agent and for measuring retinal sensitivity, fixation stability and the locus of fixation, with a normative reference database · CE marked with notified body 0123 (brochure REV08); MDR class not stated in public material. Supplied subject to registration in each destination country (MOHAP, DoH, DHA, SFDA or the equivalent authority). Certificates, declarations of conformity, IFUs and registration documents are provided with every quotation. Specifications are indicative and subject to manufacturer change.

Questions
Is the iCare COMPASS available in the UAE and the GCC?
KGG sources the iCare COMPASS and its software licences on request for hospitals and eye clinics in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability is confirmed with each quotation.
How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can include the SmartMosaic and Remote Viewer licences.
Can it replace a standard automated perimeter?
For threshold testing it offers standard 24-2, 30-2 and 10-2 grids with ZEST, ZEST Fast and full-threshold strategies and normative data, plus suprathreshold screening. COMPASS adds active retinal tracking and 60° confocal fundus images to the same exam, which iCare describes as a first in visual field testing.
Do patients need trial lenses or dilating drops?
No trial lenses: auto-focus covers −12 D to +15 D. Imaging is non-mydriatic down to a 3 mm pupil, and the device measures pupil size automatically during the exam.
What room and space does it need?
COMPASS is a 25 kg tabletop unit (360 × 620 × 590 mm) with its own computer and tablet. Threshold testing needs a dark room, and the user manual specifies 10–40 °C operation.
Can results go to our EMR or PACS?
Yes. COMPASS supports DICOM file export and DICOM modality worklist over Ethernet, and the browser-based Remote Viewer lets clinicians review exams from computers on the same network.
