XSTAT
Pressure from the inside.
XSTAT P30 controls severe, life-threatening bleeding from non-compressible wounds in the groin or armpit, and from narrow-entrance wounds in the arms or legs, where a tourniquet cannot be used. The applicator is inserted into the wound tract and a plunger deploys three porous pouches of compressed cellulose minisponges, which absorb blood, expand rapidly and apply pressure inside the cavity without manual compression. Enclosing the sponges in X-ray detectable pouches makes them quicker to remove in surgery than the loose minisponges of the original XSTAT 30.
Key specifications
Why the XSTAT P30
No manual pressure
Expanding sponges apply pressure inside the wound, so bleeding can be controlled without the minutes of hand compression that gauze packing needs, freeing the medic for other casualties.
For wounds tourniquets miss
Designed for deep, non-compressible junctional wounds in the groin or armpit and narrow-entrance limb wounds such as gunshot and stab tracts.
Pouched for removal
Minisponges are enclosed in three porous pouches large enough to see and remove like standard dressings; in a GLP swine study, no pouches were retained.
Seen on X-ray
Each pouch carries a radiopaque marker, helping surgical teams confirm complete removal.
Where it is used
Military medics, special operations, tactical EMS and trauma teams, and CoTCCC-aligned kits where junctional bleeding is a risk.
In the box
One sterile XSTAT P30 applicator pre-loaded with three minisponge pouches, with plunger, in a single peel pack. Pack sizes and configurations are confirmed with the quotation.

The P30 has a ≈32 mm applicator with three pouches for larger junctional cavities. The P15 has a 15 mm applicator and one pouch for narrow-entrance wounds.
How long can it stay in place?
Up to six hours, as a temporary measure until surgical care. It is not for use in the chest, abdomen, pelvis above the inguinal ligament or other body cavities.
Is training needed?
Yes. XSTAT is for trained responders; training devices and resources are available from RevMedx.
