HemCon
Seen on X-ray. Built to stop.
ChitoGauze XR PRO is a standard polyester/rayon nonwoven medical gauze coated with chitosan and Z-folded into a vacuum-sealed foil pouch. Chitosan enhances the gauze's ability to control bleeding, and a radiopaque thread lets receiving teams detect it on X-ray so it is not left in a wound. The newer XR2 PRO adds a second X-ray thread in the same 7.5 cm × 3.7 m format; both are CoTCCC recommended according to Tricol.
Key specifications
Why the ChitoGauze XR PRO
Chitosan-coated gauze
A familiar polyester/rayon gauze carries a chitosan coating, so responders pack it exactly like standard gauze while gaining a haemostatic effect.
Never lost in a wound
A radiopaque thread, two on the XR2 PRO, lets surgical teams confirm the dressing has been removed.
Compact and sealed
Vacuum-sealed in a flat foil pouch for pocket, belt and vehicle kits.
Practise first
A dedicated XR2 PRO trainer lets teams rehearse wound packing without opening operational stock.
Where it is used
Military medics, EMS and fire services, law enforcement, emergency departments and bleeding-control kits.
In the box
One sterile 7.5 cm × 3.7 m Z-fold chitosan gauze per vacuum-sealed pouch; also supplied in boxes of 50. Pack sizes and configurations are confirmed with the quotation.

Questions
Is ChitoGauze XR PRO available in the UAE and the GCC?
KGG sources ChitoGauze XR PRO and XR2 PRO on request for hospitals, ambulance services, security and defence organisations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability is confirmed with each quotation.
How do I get a price?
Add ChitoGauze to your quote list or use Request a quote, stating XR PRO or XR2 PRO and whether you need single units or boxes of 50. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents available for your country.
What is the difference between XR PRO and XR2 PRO?
Both are 3 in × 4 yd chitosan-coated Z-fold gauzes. The XR2 PRO has two X-ray detectable threads instead of one, making the dressing easier to see on imaging.
Is the original ChitoGauze PRO still available?
The non-X-ray ChitoGauze PRO no longer appears on Tricol's product list. We quote the current XR PRO or XR2 PRO unless you specify otherwise.
Does it contain shellfish-derived material?
Chitosan is usually derived from shellfish. Tricol does not state the source on its product page, so ask us for the IFU if allergy policy matters to your service.
How does it differ from pure chitosan dressings?
ChitoGauze is standard medical gauze coated with chitosan, so it handles like the gauze responders already use. Dressings such as ChitoSAM 100 are spun entirely from chitosan fibre.
