Why the HeartStart FRx

Coaching that keeps pace

Voice prompts, lit buttons and a CPR metronome are paced to the responder's actions, with separate guidance for adults and for infants and children.

One pad set, all ages

Pre-connected SMART Pads II work on adults and children. The optional Infant/Child Key switches energy to 50 J and changes the instructions.

Quick Shock

The FRx can typically deliver a shock about 8 seconds after the last compression of a CPR interval, keeping hands-off time short.

Built to be dropped

Rated IPX5 and IP5X, tested to a 1.22 m drop onto masonry and 500 kg of crush, and approved for aircraft use to RTCA DO-160D.

Low maintenance

Automatic daily, weekly and monthly self-tests check the circuits, battery and pad gel, and one battery typically lasts four years in standby.

Where it is used

Workplaces, schools, sports venues, aircraft, police and fire services, and other sites with responders trained in basic life support.

Questions

Is the HeartStart FRx available in the UAE and the GCC?

KGG sources the HeartStart FRx on request for organisations, clinics and public facilities in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. It is supplied subject to registration in each destination country, and availability is confirmed with each quotation.

How do I get a price?

Add the HeartStart FRx to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can include spare SMART Pads II, batteries, the Infant/Child Key and cabinets.

Is the FRx still a Philips product?

The FRx is still sold under the Philips HeartStart name, but since January 2026 the AED business has been run by Heartstream, the independent company formed when Philips sold its Emergency Care business to Bridgefield Capital.

Can it be used on children?

Yes. SMART Pads II work for adults and children. For infants and children under 25 kg or 8 years, insert the optional Infant/Child Key to reduce the energy to 50 J and switch to paediatric CPR guidance.

What needs replacing, and when?

The M5070A battery typically lasts four years in standby, and SMART Pads II carry a use-by date at least two years from manufacture. Replace pads after every use.

Will it cope with Gulf heat?

Philips rates the FRx for operation and standby from 0 to 50 °C. Keep it in a shaded or air-conditioned indoor location rather than a hot vehicle or unshaded outdoor box.
