PAX vacuum mattresses are filled with EPS beads in a multi-chamber design. When the air is drawn out, the mattress forms a rigid shell around the patient's body. The I-Mat is the straight-cut entry model with 10 loop handles. The Ergo-Mat adds an anatomical cut and a head restraint with neck support that sets hard with the mattress to help prevent hyper-reclination of the cervical spine. Colour-coded TPU straps, welded-in loops and an X-ray-transparent, non-magnetic build suit daily ambulance and rescue use.

Why the PAX Vacuum Mattress
Rigid in its own shape
Once the air is removed, the EPS bead chambers form a stable shell moulded to the patient, spreading pressure evenly during long transport.
Head held with the body
The Ergo-Mat's patented head restraint with neck support is evacuated together with the mattress, holding the head steady and reducing the risk of hyper-reclination.
Built for daily use
Welded-in loops leave a smooth surface that is easy to clean. The buckles sit at the side to avoid pressure points, and the underside is made from abrasion-resistant material.
Through the scanner
PAX states the mattress is X-ray transparent and non-magnetic, so it can stay under the patient for X-ray, CT or MRI.

I-Mat or Ergo-Mat?
The I-Mat is the straight-cut entry model (200 × 80 cm, 4.23 kg). The Ergo-Mat (200 × 97 cm) adds an anatomical cut and an integrated head restraint with neck support, which suits suspected cervical spine injuries.
Will it cope with Gulf heat?
PAX gives an operating and storage range of −30 °C to +70 °C in the vehicle. For long-term storage it recommends room temperature, and UV and heat shorten material life, so keep it in its bag and out of direct sun.
What are the TMS and tactical versions?
TMS versions have a built-in battery heating system (32, 36 or 40 °C) against hypothermia. Tactical versions are registered in EUDAMED, but their specifications are not published online and are confirmed with the quotation.
Is a pump included?
No. The mattress has a vacuum valve; PAX hand and foot pumps are sold separately. Suction units with a matching adapter can also be used.
