Orpyx
Pressure noticed. Feet protected.
The Orpyx System places pressure sensors in custom-fabricated insoles that sit in the patient's own shoes. When sustained plantar pressure is detected, the app gives a real-time alert and a live foot pressure map so the wearer can offload. Temperature and activity are also recorded and sent through the hub to the cloud, where clinicians and Orpyx's optional nursing service can follow foot health between visits. It is an adjunct to standard foot care, not a replacement.
Key specifications
Why the Orpyx Sensory Insole System
Alerts before damage
Sustained plantar pressure triggers a real-time notification so the wearer can shift weight or rest before repeated pressure contributes to tissue breakdown.
Fits their shoes
Custom insoles are made from a foot impression, or thin Flex insoles drop into everyday footwear.
Data the team can use
Pressure, temperature and activity data flow through the hub to a cloud dashboard so clinicians can spot changes between visits.
Evidence behind it
In a randomised study of the first-generation SurroSense Rx, which uses the same pressure algorithm, plantar ulcer recurrence fell by 86% in participants who wore it at least 4.5 hours a day.
Where it is used
Diabetic foot and podiatry clinics, wound care and limb-preservation programmes, and patients' homes with remote monitoring.
