Mölnlycke
Wound therapy, carried in one hand.
Avance Solo is a portable, single-patient-use system for negative pressure wound therapy. It holds a nominal −125 mmHg at the wound. The absorbent border dressing manages exudate, and any excess passes to a 50 ml canister, a combination Mölnlycke calls Controlled Fluid Management technology. The pump is battery-driven, worked with one button, worn on the body or held in the hand, and lasts 14 days. Its Safetac soft silicone border dressings come in eight sizes, with an optional foam for cavity wounds.
Key specifications
Why the Avance Solo
Therapy that travels
A small battery pump, worn on the body or held in the hand, keeps negative pressure going in hospital and at home, with one button to start and pause.
Fluid, managed twice
The absorbent dressing handles exudate by absorption and evaporation, and excess fluid moves to a 50 ml canister, so the dressing is less likely to become fully saturated.
Gentle on skin
Safetac soft silicone does not stick to the closed incision, and Mölnlycke reports it reduces pain and trauma to the wound and surrounding skin when the dressing is removed.
Alarms you notice
Lights and tones flag leakage, blockage, low battery and therapy completion so that interruptions in therapy are spotted and corrected quickly.
Sized for the wound
Eight border dressing sizes from 10 × 20 cm to 25 × 25 cm, plus a foam filler for cavity wounds, with each dressing worn for up to 7 days.
Where it is used
Surgical wards and theatres for closed incisions, flaps and grafts, wound clinics for chronic and acute wounds, and home care after discharge.

How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can quote pump sets, dressing sizes, foam and canisters together.
How long does one system last?
The pump runs for up to 14 days and is then discarded. Each border dressing can be worn for up to 7 days, or changed sooner if clinically needed, for example when it is saturated.
When does the canister need changing?
The single-use canister holds up to 50 ml of exudate. A full canister triggers the blockage alarm and should be replaced; Mölnlycke publishes a short video on changing it.
Which wounds is it for?
Low to moderately exuding chronic, acute, traumatic, subacute and dehisced wounds, diabetic, venous and pressure ulcers, and closed surgical incisions, flaps and grafts. Contraindications include malignancy in the wound, untreated osteomyelitis and exposed vessels or organs.
Can patients shower with it?
Light showers are allowed if the pump and canister are disconnected and the dressing is kept out of direct water jets. If the pump gets wet, therapy should be paused and the pump replaced.
