kINPen
Cold plasma. Precise on every wound.
The kINPen MED turns argon gas into a fine jet of cold plasma below 40 °C. The clinician guides the pen over the wound at about 5 mm per second without contact, treating about 1 cm² at a time for 30–60 seconds per cm². A sterile single-use spacer keeps the working distance constant. The plasma acts on bacteria, including multi-resistant strains such as MRSA, and supports tissue regeneration.
Key specifications
Why the kINPen MED
Plasma without contact
The argon plasma jet treats the wound surface from a fixed distance, so there is no pressure on fragile tissue and nothing touches the wound bed.
Precise on uneven wounds
A small effective area of about 1 cm² lets the clinician work into fissured and irregular wound surfaces point by point.
Dose by time
Treatment intensity is set by duration, 30–60 seconds per cm², with gas flow fixed at the recommended 5.0 l/min for repeatable sessions.
Sterile every time
A sterile single-use spacer fits the pen for each patient and keeps the minimum distance between plasma and skin.
Clinical evidence
A placebo-controlled trial in diabetic foot ulcers (JAMA Network Open, 2020) reported faster wound closure when cold plasma was added to standard care.
Where it is used
Wound care clinics, diabetic foot services, dermatology, vascular and plastic surgery departments, and outpatient treatment rooms.
