PlasmaDerm
Cold plasma. Directly on the wound.
PlasmaDerm generates cold plasma directly on the wound surface by dielectric barrier discharge, using only the surrounding air between the studs of a sterile spacer. At the same time a high-frequency electric field acts on the tissue, which CINOGY reports increases microcirculation for several hours. Treatment is given during the dressing change: each area receives two 90-second intervals. The Universal unit takes two handpieces, Flex and Cutan, so one device covers large wounds as well as small or hard-to-reach ones.
Key specifications
Why the PlasmaDerm Universal
Plasma made from air
Plasma forms in the air gaps between the studs of the spacer, right on the wound surface, producing reactive oxygen and nitrogen species such as ozone and nitric oxide. No gas supply is needed.
Works below the surface
A high-frequency electric field acts alongside the plasma. CINOGY reports that it increases microcirculation into deeper tissue for several hours after treatment.
Two handpieces, one unit
The Flex handpiece and spacer suit larger wound areas; the Cutan handpiece and spacer reach small or awkward wounds. Each spacer is sterile and single-use.
Fits the dressing change
After cleansing, each area gets two 90-second intervals and the dressing is reapplied. Standard dressings and cleansing routines stay unchanged.
Where it is used
Hospital wound care, outpatient clinics and wound centres, home-care nursing services and, after instruction, patients and carers at home.

Questions
Is the PlasmaDerm Universal available in the UAE and the GCC?

How do I get a price?
Add the PlasmaDerm Universal to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing for the unit and spacers, lead time and the documents needed for your country.
What is the difference between the Flex and Cutan handpieces?
Both use the same plasma principle. Flex, with its matching spacer, is designed for larger wound areas; Cutan, with a smaller spacer, is for small or hard-to-reach wounds. The Universal unit accepts both.
How long does a treatment take?
CINOGY specifies two 90-second intervals for each area, given after the wound has been cleansed. For larger wounds the spacer is moved with overlap until the whole surface is covered.
Are the spacers reusable?
No. PlasmaDerm spacers are sterile single-use items and are discarded after each treatment, so a steady supply of spacers is part of running the service.
Who should not be treated?
The maker lists patients with active implants not immune to electromagnetic fields, patients with epilepsy, pregnant patients and people under 18. Rare tingling, erythema or wound pain at the first treatment has been reported.
