The Mini series uses vibration-controlled transient elastography: a 2.5 MHz probe with a built-in vibrator sends a 50 Hz shear wave into the liver and times how fast it travels. The system reports liver stiffness for fibrosis assessment and the Ultrasound Attenuation Parameter for steatosis. Depending on the model, a convex imaging probe adds B-mode, M-mode, colour and PW Doppler to help find the right measurement window. The portable unit runs for about 3 hours on battery.

Why the iLivTouch Mini / FT100
Stiffness and fat together
One examination gives liver stiffness in kPa for fibrosis and the Ultrasound Attenuation Parameter in dB/m for steatosis, with IQR/median quality indicators.
Proven technique
Vibration-controlled transient elastography at 50 Hz is the same measurement principle used across liver clinics; FDA cleared the FT100 against Hisky's earlier FT9000 and Mini800 systems.
Imaging to aim
Models with the convex imaging probe add B-mode, M-mode, colour and PW Doppler, which helps locate a clear intercostal window before measuring.
Takes the test to patients
At about 7 kg with a 3-hour battery, the Mini unit moves between clinics, wards and screening sites rather than staying in one room.

Is the iLivTouch Mini / FT100 available in the UAE and the GCC?

How does it compare with FibroScan?
Both use vibration-controlled transient elastography and report liver stiffness in kPa and an attenuation parameter in dB/m. Published studies have compared the FT100 with FibroScan; results from different devices should not be mixed in one patient's follow-up without care.
Which model should I choose?
All nine models share the same hardware. They differ in software functions and whether a convex imaging probe is supplied. Hisky states CE and FDA for the FT100 and Mini800, so we quote those for most buyers.
Can it be used on children?
Yes. The FDA indication covers adult and paediatric patients with confirmed or suspected liver disease, and notes that paediatric results should be read alongside the child's clinical condition.
