Getinge
Every breath, personalised.
The Servo-u is a universal intensive care ventilator that covers neonatal, paediatric and adult patients on one platform, from invasive ventilation through NIV to integrated High Flow therapy. Decision-support tools sit directly on the 15-inch touchscreen: Servo Compass shows when driving pressure or tidal volume per predicted body weight leave their targets, the Open Lung Tool guides recruitment and PEEP titration, and transpulmonary pressure monitoring separates lung from chest-wall mechanics. NAVA and Edi monitoring use the electrical activity of the diaphragm to synchronise support with the patient's own breathing and to guide weaning. The system is modular: software options, plug-in modules and up to six hot-swappable batteries are added as clinical needs grow.
Key specifications
Why the Servo-u
Lung protection on screen
Servo Compass flags when plateau or driving pressure and tidal volume per predicted body weight drift off target. Open Lung Tool trends, Stress Index and automated recruitment workflows (Auto SRM, Auto RM) guide PEEP and driving pressure.
Ventilation led by the diaphragm
With the Edi module and an Edi catheter, the Servo-u displays the electrical activity of the diaphragm in every mode. NAVA and NIV NAVA use that signal to time and size each breath to the patient's own drive.
Transpulmonary pressure, simplified
An automated manoeuvre checks oesophageal balloon position and filling, and a diagnostic view shows oesophageal and transpulmonary pressure waveforms beside airway pressure, for ARDS and ECMO patients.
From 300 grams to adults
The SW Neonatal option extends tidal volumes down to 2 ml and adds invasive leakage compensation, neonatal alarms and Y sensor monitoring, so one ventilator platform serves NICU, PICU and adult ICU.
Fewer stand-alone devices
High Flow therapy, Heliox and an integrated Aerogen vibrating-mesh nebuliser run on the same ventilator, with smooth switching between High Flow, NIV and invasive ventilation.
Where it is used
Adult, paediatric and neonatal intensive care units, cardiac and surgical ICUs, step-down units and intra-hospital transport, mounted on its mobile cart, a ceiling supply unit or a shelf.
In the box
Servo-u patient unit and 15-inch user interface with two hot-swappable battery modules (six slots), as configured by Getinge. Mobile cart, software options (neonatal, NIV, NIV NAVA, High Flow, Heliox, Servo Compass, Open Lung Tool, transpulmonary pressure), plug-in modules, Compressor Mini, humidifier and holders are specified per order. Configuration, software options and consumables are confirmed with the quotation.
Clearance & compliance
FDA 510(k) cleared (e.g. K201874, Servo-u / Servo-n / Servo-u MR system 4.1, April 2021, per Getinge press release and FDA database) · CE marked under the EU MDR (Getinge reported the Servo-u among its first EU MDR-certified products, notified body TÜV SÜD, February 2020); options may be pending approval in some countries. Supplied subject to registration in each destination country (MOHAP, DoH, DHA, SFDA or the equivalent authority). Certificates, declarations of conformity, IFUs and registration documents are provided with every quotation. Specifications are indicative and subject to manufacturer change.

Questions
Is the Getinge Servo-u available in the UAE and the GCC?
KGG sources the Servo-u on request for hospitals and intensive care units in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability, configuration and lead time are confirmed with each quotation.
How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can quote the mobile cart, software options, plug-in modules and consumables with it.
Is NAVA included, and what else does it need?
Getinge lists invasive NAVA as part of the Servo-u base software. It needs the Edi module and a single-use Edi catheter (a nasogastric feeding tube with electrodes, in neonatal, paediatric and adult sizes). NIV NAVA and NPS are separate software options.
Can the Servo-u ventilate premature neonates?
Yes, with the SW Neonatal option: patients from 0.3 kg, tidal volumes from 2 ml, invasive leakage compensation and a Y sensor for proximal flow. Getinge updated its instructions in 2025 on the leakage test setting for neonates; the current user manual is supplied with each order.
How does the Servo-u differ from the Servo-c and Servo-air?
The Servo-u is the most complete Servo, with NAVA, Edi, transpulmonary pressure, Heliox and automated recruitment. The Servo-c is a simpler ICU ventilator without these tools; the Servo-air is turbine-driven for adults and children. For MRI suites, Getinge offers the Servo-u MR.
Which consumables and filters does it use?
Getinge lists the Servo Duo Guard bacterial and viral filter, Aerogen Solo nebulisers, Edi and NutriVent Pes catheters, NIV masks, CO₂ airway adapters, neonatal Y sensors and Servo tubing. The expiratory cassette is reusable and interchangeable between Servo ventilators.
