Aerogen
Medication delivered. Circuit closed.
The Aerogen Solo uses a vibrating mesh to turn prescribed inhaled medication into a fine aerosol without adding gas flow to the circuit. It sits in-line at the wye or the humidifier, and the 6 mL medication cup can be refilled without opening the circuit. One nebuliser can follow the patient through invasive ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, high-flow and self-ventilating care. The Pro-X controller is reusable between patients, with 30-minute and continuous modes and an internal battery for transport.
Key specifications
Why the Aerogen Solo
Closed circuit
Medication is added through the fill cap without breaking the ventilator circuit, keeping PEEP and avoiding exposure for staff during invasive or non-invasive ventilation.
No added flow
The vibrating mesh needs no driving gas, so ventilator tidal volumes and alarms are not affected by nebuliser flow.
One nebuliser, whole stay
The same Solo can be used through invasive ventilation, non-invasive support, high-flow and self-ventilating care for up to 28 days intermittent use.
More drug delivered
In vitro and healthy-subject studies cited by Aerogen showed about four times more drug deposition than jet nebulisers during IMV, NIV and high-flow.
Reusable controller
The Pro-X controller is used across patients, with 30-minute and continuous modes and an internal battery for intra-hospital transport.
Where it is used
Intensive care, neonatal and paediatric ICUs, emergency departments, respiratory wards and high-dependency units.
