Ferno
Packaged fast. Lifted safely.
The XTRIC8 comes out of its backpack already rigged, with an internal patient harness, external restraints and six rubber handles. Colour-coded lifting points match a colour-coded four-point bridle, so teams can set up horizontal or vertical lifts quickly. All external webbing is reflective and the buckles are glove-friendly. It is not a spinal immobilisation device, but works with KED, scoop stretchers, half spine boards and cervical collars.
Key specifications
Why the XTRIC8 Rescue Sled
Ready out of the bag
The sled ships pre-rigged with harness, restraints, handles, a Maillon Rapide and the lifting bridle, so teams can package a casualty without assembly.
Secure in vertical lifts
An internal patient harness with a foot stand holds the casualty in place when the sled is raised vertically through shafts, hatches or cliffs.
Colour-coded rigging
Reinforced lifting points are colour-coded to match the labelled four-point bridle, which is pre-set for a level horizontal lift.
Built for gloves and low light
Glove-friendly buckles, six large rubber handles and reflective webbing on the drag handle and all external straps help in dark or cold conditions.
Where it is used
Fire and rescue services, civil defence, mine and industrial rescue teams, oil and gas sites, mountain rescue and confined-space rescue units.

Questions
Is the XTRIC8 Rescue Sled available in the UAE and the GCC?

How do I get a price?
Add the XTRIC8 to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents needed for your country.
Can it be used for suspected spinal injury?
Not on its own. Ferno states the XTRIC8 is not a spinal immobilisation device; the patient should first be stabilised with a device such as a KED, scoop stretcher, half spine board or cervical collar, then secured in the sled.
What load can it lift vertically?
Ferno rates the sled to 250 kg in vertical lifts and 350 kg in horizontal lifts. The included bridle is rated to 500 kg, with karabiners tested to EN 362 and ANSI Z359.12.
Do teams need training?
Yes. Ferno warns that only trained personnel should operate the XTRIC8, and that rope rescue with harnesses and bridles needs professional instruction. Ferno says its layout reduces training time.
How is it stored?
The sled is rolled tightly from the foot end, held with its hook-and-loop storage strap and packed into the backpack bag. It is inspected before and after each use and disinfected after each use.
