EDAN
Hear the flow. Anywhere.
The SonoTrax Vascular is a compact, audio-only pocket Doppler from Edan's SonoTrax family. It is supplied with an 8 MHz waterproof probe for superficial vessels and also accepts 4 MHz and 5 MHz vascular probes for deeper vessels. It runs on standard AA batteries, has a 1 W speaker and an earphone socket, and switches itself off after one minute without a signal.
Key specifications
Why the SonoTrax Vascular
Made for vessels
The supplied 8 MHz probe targets superficial arteries and veins with high resolution; 4 MHz and 5 MHz probes extend reach to deeper vessels.
Probes that swap
Waterproof probes click on and off the same main unit, so one SonoTrax body can serve several vascular applications.
Clear audio
A 1 W loudspeaker carries the flow signal at the bedside, with adjustable volume and an earphone socket for quiet rooms or recording.
Simple to run
Standard AA batteries give up to nine hours of stand-by, and the unit turns itself off after a minute without a signal.
Where it is used
Vascular, diabetes and wound clinics, podiatry, general practice and wards for pulse detection, ankle–brachial pressure index and assessment of peripheral vascular disease.

How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can include 4 MHz or 5 MHz probes.
Which probe should I choose?
The 8 MHz probe suits superficial vessels such as the foot and wrist arteries used for ankle–brachial measurements. The 4 MHz and 5 MHz probes reach deeper vessels, for example in larger legs or oedematous limbs.
Does it show a waveform or heart rate?
No. The SonoTrax Vascular is audio-only and has no display. EDAN's SD3 Vascular is the alternative if you need a screen.
Can it be used for fetal heart monitoring?
This configuration is for vascular use. The SonoTrax main unit family accepts 2 MHz and 3 MHz obstetric probes, but fetal monitoring is offered on EDAN's obstetric SonoTrax models.
What batteries does it use?
Standard AA alkaline batteries (up to 9 hours stand-by) or rechargeable Ni-MH AA cells (up to 8 hours).
