VeinViewer
See the vein. Then the stick.
VeinViewer shines harmless near-infrared light onto the skin, where blood absorbs it and surrounding tissue reflects it; the image is processed and projected back onto the skin in real time from about 30 cm away. Christie states it shows blood patterns up to 15 mm deep and clinically relevant veins up to 10 mm, so clinicians can assess veins before, during and after access, including refill, flushing and haematoma. The Flex is a battery-powered handheld for EMS, clinics and NICU, mountable for hands-free use; the Vision2 sits on a wheeled stand with an articulating arm for head-to-toe assessment at the bedside.
Key specifications
Why the VeinViewer
The vein, on the skin
VeinViewer projects the vein map directly onto the patient, so the clinician keeps eyes on the site instead of looking at a separate monitor.
Before, during and after
Assess veins, bifurcations and valves before access, watch the flush displace blood during access, and look for haematoma afterwards.
Modes for every patient
Universal, Fine Detail and Inverse modes, three window sizes and MaxBright adapt the image to small veins, skin tone, hair and room light.
Flex goes anywhere
The 0.7 kg Flex runs on two fast-swap batteries for up to 4 hours and clamps to bed rails or IV poles for hands-free use.
Vision2 stays ready
An articulating arm and flexible wrist on a wheeled stand reach 135 cm, so one Vision2 can assess a patient head to toe without moving the base.
Where it is used
Emergency departments, paediatrics and NICU, oncology and infusion, pre-op, radiology, blood and plasma centres, outpatient clinics, aesthetics and EMS.

How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can quote spare batteries, a travel case or the Vision2 IV basket.
Flex or Vision2?
The Flex is a 0.7 kg handheld that clamps to rails and poles, suited to EMS, clinics, NICU and shared use. The Vision2 is a 24.5 kg wheeled stand with a 135 cm articulating arm and TriColor imaging for ward and department use.
How deep can it see?
Christie states VeinViewer shows blood patterns up to 15 mm deep and clinically relevant peripheral veins up to 10 mm. Arteries may appear if they fall within that depth. It is a visual aid, not a diagnostic device.
Does it need consumables or contact with the patient?
No. VeinViewer projects light from about 30 cm, has no applied parts, uses no gels or patches and does not heat the skin. It must not be used on the eyes, near MRI equipment or in direct sunlight.
Will it work in Gulf conditions?
The Flex is rated for use at 16–35 °C and 10–90% humidity, and for storage from −23 to 60 °C. It is designed for indoor and vehicle use, not outdoors in direct sunlight, so keep it in climate-controlled areas.
