CEGLA

Loosen. Mobilise. Breathe easier.

The RC-Cornet PLUS creates oscillating positive expiratory pressure as the patient breathes out through a curved valve tube. Setting I narrows the mouthpiece to raise expiratory pressure and widen the airways, reducing breathlessness. Setting II removes the restriction for higher flow and stronger oscillation, moving loosened mucus so it can be coughed up. Each setting has four intensity levels (A–D) from an initial pressure above 4 cmH₂O, and the ISO nebuliser port allows breathing therapy and moist inhalation at the same time.

Why the RC-Cornet PLUS

Two therapies, one device

Setting I raises expiratory pressure to widen the airways and reduce breathlessness. Setting II increases flow and oscillation to mobilise loosened mucus for coughing.

Gentle enough for weak patients

Four intensity levels in each setting, starting above 4 cmH₂O, let the device be adjusted for weak patients, including neuromuscular and stroke patients.

Therapy plus inhalation

The built-in ISO nebuliser port allows OPEP and moist inhalation at the same time, which CEGLA says shortens treatment and improves medication deposition.

Works in any position

The device works independently of position. Add-ons extend it to nasal therapy, tracheostomy patients and a mask for adults and children.

Where it is used

Home therapy for COPD, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and asthma; hospital respiratory physiotherapy, weaning units and out-of-hospital intensive care.

Who should not use it?

Contraindications in the IFU include pneumothorax, massive haemoptysis, raised intracranial pressure above 20 mmHg, decompensated cardiovascular disease, acute thrombosis and possible eardrum injury. Other conditions should be discussed with a clinician.

What is the difference from the original RC-Cornet?
