Xprecia Prime
INR in under a minute.
Xprecia Prime measures prothrombin time on a single-use electrochemical test strip and reports the result as INR and seconds in under a minute. It is intended for monitoring patients on vitamin K antagonist therapy such as warfarin in clinics, primary and urgent care and hospitals. A touchscreen, built-in barcode scanner for patient, operator and strip data, operator lockout and 1,000-result memory support multi-patient professional use, and results can be accessed over Wi-Fi or USB. Each strip lot is factory-calibrated, so no reagents or manual calibration are needed.
Key specifications
Why the Xprecia Prime
Lab-comparable INR
Patented electrochemical strip technology reports INR and PT seconds; in the FDA study capillary results were compared with plasma INR on a Sysmex CS-2500 laboratory analyzer.
Five steps, one minute
Scan the patient ID, insert and scan the strip, apply a fingerstick drop and read the result. The analyzer checks strip integrity and temperature before each test.
Built for multi-patient use
Positive patient identification, operator lockout, LQC reminders and an eject button for strips support safe, traceable testing in busy clinics.
Connected and portable
A 210 g handheld with a rechargeable battery, 1,000-result memory and Wi-Fi or USB access to results from a PC browser.
No reagents to prepare
Each strip vial is barcoded with its calibration values, lot and expiry, so there is no reagent handling or manual calibration.
Where it is used
Point-of-care and CLIA-waived settings: anticoagulation clinics, primary care, urgent care and hospitals monitoring patients on warfarin.

It is supplied subject to registration in each destination country, and availability is confirmed with each quotation.
How do I get a price?
Add the Xprecia Prime to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can quote test strips and liquid controls with the analyzer.
Which patients is it for?
Patients on vitamin K antagonist therapy such as warfarin. The manufacturer states it should not be used to monitor patients on other anticoagulants, such as direct oral anticoagulants or heparin.
How is it different from the Siemens Xprecia Stride?
Xprecia Prime is Universal Biosensors' second-generation analyzer, sold directly by UBI and its distributors. It adds a touchscreen, Wi-Fi and wired connectivity, a built-in barcode scanner and operator lockout. Xprecia Stride was the first-generation model marketed by Siemens.
How should test strips be stored in Gulf heat?
Strips are stored at 2–30 °C below 75% humidity and the analyzer operates at 15–32 °C, so both should be kept in air-conditioned rooms. Liquid controls need refrigeration at 2–8 °C, so we plan cold-chain shipping where needed.
Is there a version for patient self-testing?
Yes. Xprecia Prime 4U is a separate version approved in Europe for patient self-testing under the IVDR. This page covers the professional Xprecia Prime; ask us if you need the 4U.
