Saebo
Grasp. Release. Repeat.
SaeboFlex positions the wrist and fingers in extension so the hand is ready to pick up an object. The user grasps by voluntarily flexing the fingers; when the grip relaxes, extension springs help reopen the hand to release. This allows high-repetition, task-oriented hand training in therapy and at home. It has no motor or electrical parts and is sized and fitted by a Saebo-trained occupational or physical therapist.

Why the SaeboFlex
Grasp and release
The orthosis holds the wrist and fingers open. The user closes the hand voluntarily, and springs help it reopen, so objects can be picked up and released again.
Built for repetition
Saebo designs it for mass-practice, task-oriented training, used throughout the day and in high-repetition therapy sessions.
Tuned to the patient
Digit caps, finger lead mounts, a multi-directional thumb system and graded extension springs let the therapist match the device to hand size and tone.
Fitted by trained clinicians
SaeboFlex is a specialised, patented device. Therapists complete Saebo training before sizing and fitting it, and before teaching the home programme.
Where it is used
Stroke and brain-injury rehabilitation centres, outpatient occupational and physiotherapy clinics, and supervised home programmes.

Who can fit it?
Only an occupational or physical therapist trained through Saebo's course. Saebo states the SaeboFlex is a custom-fit device that must be sized and fitted by a qualified, Saebo-trained professional.
SaeboFlex, SaeboReach or SaeboGlove?
SaeboFlex suits limited hand function with moderate to severe tone and an unaffected elbow. SaeboReach adds elbow support for patients who also have elbow weakness or tone. SaeboGlove is a lighter glove for milder presentations. The choice follows a clinical assessment.
Is it too late years after a stroke?
Saebo reports that people up to 20 years after neurological injury can benefit. Suitability is assessed individually by a trained therapist.
