Aircast
Cold and compression, together.
The Aircast Cryo/Cuff system pairs a cooler of iced water with an anatomically designed cuff. With the Gravity cooler, raising the cooler fills the cuff and its height sets the compression; the Cryo/Cuff IC adds a motorised cooler lid for intermittent compression. Cuffs can be detached from the cooler so the patient can move without interrupting treatment, and the range covers the knee, shoulder, ankle, foot, hand and wrist, elbow, calf, thigh, and back, hip and rib, with paediatric sizes. Enovis reports more than 400,000 patients treated.
Key specifications
Why the Cryo/Cuff
Cold plus compression
Localised cold is combined with uniform compression from the water-filled cuff to help reduce swelling around the injury or surgical site.
Gravity or powered
The Gravity cooler needs no power: cooler height sets the pressure. The IC cooler adds a pump in the lid for automatic intermittent compression.
Shaped for each joint
Anatomically designed cuffs cover the major joints, in several sizes for adults and children, for targeted cold therapy where it is needed.
Stays with the patient
Cuffs detach from the cooler at any time, so patients can move without interrupting treatment.
Clinical evidence
Enovis describes Cryo/Cuff as the only gravity-powered cold compression device with published clinical evidence, citing studies after knee replacement, ACL reconstruction and wrist arthroscopy.
Where it is used
Orthopaedic and sports medicine wards, day surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and home recovery after discharge.

Questions
Is the Aircast Cryo/Cuff available in the UAE and the GCC?
KGG sources Aircast Cryo/Cuff coolers and cuffs on request for hospitals, orthopaedic and sports medicine clinics and physiotherapy centres in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, supplied subject to registration in each destination country. Availability is confirmed with each quotation.
What is the difference between the Gravity and IC coolers?
The Gravity cooler fills the cuff by gravity and needs no power. The IC cooler has a motorised lid that adds intermittent compression and runs from a mains power supply; it can still be used gravity-fed if needed.
How do I choose the size?
Knee cuffs are sized by thigh circumference 15 cm (6 in) above the kneecap, shoulder cuffs by torso circumference, and foot cuffs by foot circumference. The ankle cuff is one adult size, with a paediatric version for ages 1 to 7.
How is it used safely?
Apply the cuff empty, then fill it without raising the cooler more than 38 cm (15 in) above it. Do not use an elastic wrap, keep dressings light, check the skin every one to two hours and reduce pressure if there is numbness or tingling. Enovis warns that the device can be cold enough to cause serious injury.
Which cuffs work with the coolers?
Both coolers work with all Aircast Cryo/Cuffs and with ArcticFlow cuffs, so one cooler can serve knee, shoulder, ankle and other cuffs.
