MiniMed
Insulin, adjusted every five minutes.
The MiniMed 780G system links an insulin pump, a continuous glucose monitoring sensor and an infusion set. With SmartGuard on, the pump reads glucose every five minutes, adjusts basal insulin and can deliver automatic correction boluses, including when a meal dose was missed or carbohydrates were underestimated. Glucose targets can be set to 100, 110 or 120 mg/dL (5.5, 6.1 or 6.7 mmol/L). The pump runs on one AA battery, is controlled from its own screen without a phone, and shares data with the MiniMed Mobile and CareLink apps.
Key specifications
Why the MiniMed 780G
Adjusts on its own
SmartGuard reads the sensor every five minutes, adjusts basal insulin and gives automatic corrections, aiming for a personal target of 100, 110 or 120 mg/dL.
Meal Detection
MiniMed describes Meal Detection technology, which delivers additional correction insulin when a meal dose was missed or carbohydrates were miscounted.
No phone required
Everything runs from the pump itself. The MiniMed Mobile app and CareLink Connect add phone viewing and sharing with up to five care partners.
A choice of sensors
Depending on the market, the pump pairs with Guardian 4, the all-in-one Simplera Sync, or the 15-day Instinct sensor made by Abbott.
AA powered, water resistant
One AA battery and no daily charging; the pump withstands immersion to 2.4 m for 30 minutes.
Where it is used
Diabetes centres, endocrinology and paediatric diabetes services, for people requiring insulin within the indications approved in each country, prescribed and trained by a diabetes team.

Questions
Is the MiniMed 780G available in the UAE and the GCC?

How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can include sensors, infusion sets and reservoirs.
Who is it for?
Indications differ by country. In Europe it is CE marked for insulin-requiring people with diabetes from age 2, including pregnancy and type 2 diabetes. In the US it is approved for type 1 diabetes from age 7 and type 2 diabetes in adults requiring insulin.
Which sensors work with it?
Guardian 4, the disposable Simplera Sync and, in some markets, the 15-day Instinct sensor made by Abbott. Sensor availability varies by country and is confirmed with the quotation.
Does KGG supply insulin?
No. The 780G is a device that delivers rapid-acting U-100 insulin prescribed by the patient's clinician. Insulin is obtained separately through normal pharmacy channels.
How should it be stored in Gulf heat?
MiniMed gives a pump storage range of −20 °C to 50 °C. Insulin in the reservoir is more heat-sensitive than the pump, so keep both out of direct sun and hot cars.
