Mindray

Ultrasound, untethered.

TE Air is Mindray's wireless handheld ultrasound. Each IP68-rated probe creates its own Wi-Fi link to a phone or tablet running the TE Air app, so there is no cable to drape or disinfect. The TE Air e5M switches between linear and convex imaging for head-to-toe scanning, while the TE Air i3P is a phased-array probe with a small footprint for cardiac and lung windows. Both offer B, M, colour, power, PW Doppler and tissue Doppler, charge from 0 to 90% in about 35 minutes, and recharge in the Air Capsule case.

Why the TE Air

No cable at all

Each probe creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot to the TE Air app, so it can be sleeved in a sterile cover and used at the bedside without a cord to manage.

Two probes, one app

The e5M switches between linear and convex imaging for vascular, MSK, abdominal and OB/GYN work; the i3P phased array fits between ribs for cardiac and lung views.

Built to be cleaned

IP68-rated and fully immersible for high-level disinfection, with a sealed body and no connector to clean.

Charged in minutes

Fast charging takes a probe from 0 to 90% in about 35 minutes, and the Air Capsule case carries roughly 2.5 extra charges for a full shift.

Smart tools on board

AutoEF, Smart Bladder, PW Auto Calc, needle enhancement and iScanHelper tutorials help standardise exams; Mindray states there are no subscriptions.

Where it is used

Emergency departments, intensive care, anaesthesia and vascular access, wards and clinics, pre-hospital care and teaching.

In the box

e5M or i3P: which probe do I need?

The e5M is the all-rounder: it switches between linear and convex imaging for vascular access, MSK, abdomen and OB/GYN. The i3P is a phased-array probe with a small footprint, suited to cardiac and lung scanning.

Which phones and tablets work with it?

For the e5M, Mindray lists iPhone with an A10 chip or newer on iOS 13+, iPad with A12 or newer on iOS 14+, and Android devices with a Snapdragon 855 or newer on Android 10+. It also works with Mindray's AirSight display and TEX20 systems.

Does it cope with Gulf heat?

The e5M datasheet gives an operating range of 0–35 °C and storage from −20 to 45 °C. Keep it out of parked vehicles in summer; fast charging is specified at 10–26 °C ambient.
