Teach the right breath.
In-Check DIAL G16 measures peak inspiratory flow and, set to the right position, simulates the internal resistance of the patient's inhaler. Inhalers are grouped into six resistance settings, five for dry powder inhalers and one for pressurised metered-dose inhalers, with a guide on the device and a downloadable chart. The patient then practises inhaling at a flow suited to their own DPI or pMDI. Each unit is individually calibrated and is cleaned by simple washing.
Key specifications
Why the In-Check DIAL G16
Matches the inhaler
Six resistance settings group inhalers by internal airflow resistance, so the patient feels the resistance of their own DPI or pMDI while practising.
Coaching you can see
The meter shows peak inspiratory flow, letting the clinician confirm whether the patient reaches a flow suited to their inhaler and repeat until they do.
Covers newer devices
Grouping by resistance accommodates new inhalers; Flexicare's resistance chart lists devices from Ellipta and Spiromax to Respimat and Breezhaler.
Simple to keep
Individually calibrated, washable and low-cost, with no batteries or electronics.
Where it is used
Asthma and COPD clinics, respiratory nursing, community pharmacy, primary care and patient education programmes.
