ResMed

The sleep lab, in a pocket.

ApneaLink Air records nasal flow, snoring, respiratory effort, pulse and oxygen saturation through a nasal cannula, the EasySense effort belt and an XPOD oximeter. Patients start and stop it with one button, and lights confirm good signals and a complete test. The ApneaLink software then scores AHI, hypopnoea index, ODI, flow limitation and snoring, separates obstructive from central apnoeas and flags probable Cheyne–Stokes respiration.

Why the ApneaLink Air

One-touch for patients

A single Start/Stop button and set-up lights help patients apply the sensors correctly at home, reducing failed nights and repeat tests.

Five channels, one night

Nasal flow, snoring, effort, pulse and oxygen saturation are recorded together, with body position stored as an EDF+ file.

Test-complete light

In the morning a light tells the patient whether enough data was recorded for analysis before the device is returned.

Automatic scoring

Software calculates AHI, HI and ODI, distinguishes obstructive from central apnoeas and estimates Cheyne–Stokes probability, with manual scoring available.

Reports for referrers

Colour-keyed summary, signal and extended reports can be printed or e-mailed to referring physicians.

Where it is used

Sleep clinics, respiratory and ENT practices, cardiology and diabetes services, and home sleep testing programmes run by hospitals and home-care providers.

Add the ApneaLink Air to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can include nasal cannulas and oximetry sensors.

What does it record?

Up to five channels: nasal flow, snoring, respiratory effort, pulse and blood oxygen saturation. Body position is also stored as an EDF+ file viewable on a PC.

Which consumables does each study need?

A single-use nasal cannula for each patient, plus either a reusable Nonin soft sensor that is cleaned between patients or a single-use Nonin sensor. Two AAA batteries power each recording.

ApneaLink Air or full polysomnography?

ApneaLink Air is a Type III device that aids diagnosis of sleep-disordered breathing in adults at home. It does not record EEG or sleep stages; complex cases still need in-lab polysomnography.

Is it for children?

No. ResMed's indication is for adult patients, under the direction of a healthcare professional.
