Nonin
Spot checks, sent wirelessly.
The Nonin 3230 measures functional oxygen saturation and pulse rate in well or poorly perfused patients and sends each reading over Bluetooth Low Energy to a connected app or gateway. It supports both Nonin's own data profile and the Bluetooth SIG Pulse Oximeter Profile adopted by Continua, with 128-bit AES encryption. Two AAA batteries give about 2,200 spot checks, and Nonin's CorrectCheck symbol tells the user when the finger is not inserted correctly. It is built for home healthcare under clinical supervision and remote patient monitoring programmes.
Key specifications
Why the Nonin 3230
Made for connected care
Each spot check is sent over Bluetooth Low Energy using Nonin's profile or the standard Bluetooth SIG Pulse Oximeter Profile, so it pairs with remote monitoring apps and hubs.
Accuracy on record
Nonin publishes its clinical Arms values: ±2 digits SpO₂ from 70 to 100%, including low perfusion, and ±3 digits for pulse rate.
Guides the finger
CorrectCheck shows a symbol when the finger is not fully inserted, so patients at home can reposition before a reading is sent.
Long battery life
Two AAA batteries last for about 2,200 spot checks, and the oximeter switches on and off automatically.
Encrypted link
Bluetooth connections support authentication and 128-bit AES encryption, and the oximeter accepts only one connection at a time.
Where it is used
Home healthcare under the supervision of qualified professionals, remote patient monitoring and telehealth programmes.

How do I get a price?
Add it to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country.
Does it work without an app?
Yes. The 3230 shows SpO₂ and pulse rate on its own display. Bluetooth sends the reading to a paired app, tablet or gateway when one is in range, about 10 m line of sight.
Can it be used for continuous monitoring?
No. It is a spot-check device with no SpO₂ alarm. Nonin's manual says it is not for continuous monitoring, and it should not be used on neonates.
Which systems can receive the data?
Any app or hub that supports Nonin's GATT oximeter profile or the Bluetooth SIG Pulse Oximeter Profile adopted by Continua. Nonin offers integration support to developers.
Will it cope with Gulf heat?
The 3230 operates from −5 to 40 °C and can be stored from −40 to 70 °C. It needs about 8 minutes to cool from 70 °C to operating temperature, so avoid leaving it in a parked car.
