Pulmogine
Small. Silent. Ready to breathe.
The Pulmogine HCM-86C uses HCmed's vibrating mesh technology to aerosolise prescribed liquid medication from a 10 mL reservoir at 0.25 mL per minute or more, with no compressor or tubing. It runs on two AA batteries or an optional adaptor, shuts off automatically after a 10-minute session or when the reservoir runs dry, and is IP55 water-resistant so it can be rinsed under running water. FDA testing with albuterol measured a mass median aerodynamic diameter of about 3 µm.
Key specifications
Why the Pulmogine
Mesh, not compressor
A vibrating mesh turns liquid medication into a fine aerosol without a compressor or tubing, so treatment is quiet and the device fits in a pocket.
Two AA batteries
Runs on two AA alkaline batteries or an optional adaptor, so therapy continues away from a socket, at school or while travelling.
Stops by itself
The nebuliser switches off when the reservoir is empty or after a 10-minute session, and an LED warns when the batteries run low.
Rinse and reuse
IP55 water resistance lets the device be rinsed under running water. It is designed for a single patient over multiple uses.
Tested aerosol
FDA bench testing with albuterol, ipratropium and cromolyn showed particle size and delivered dose comparable to an established mesh nebuliser.
Where it is used
Hospitals and institutions, home care, schools and long-term care facilities, for adults and children from five years.
