GCE
Light enough to forget.
The GCE Zen-O lite delivers oxygen only when the user breathes in, in five settings from 1.0 to 5.0, up to 1,050 mL per minute at 87–96% purity. Rate Responsive Therapy raises the dose when the breathing rate climbs, for example on stairs. At 2.5 kg and 37 dB(A) it is GCE's lightest and quietest unit, carried in a shoulder bag or rucksack, running from a rechargeable battery, mains or a car outlet. The Clarity version adds remote monitoring for home oxygen providers.

Zen-O lite or Zen-O?
The Zen-O lite is 2.5 kg and pulse-only, up to 1,050 mL per minute. The Zen-O is 4.3 kg and adds continuous flow up to 2 L/min. Patients prescribed continuous flow need the Zen-O.
How long does the battery last?
GCE quotes about 4.5 hours at setting 2 on its product page and up to 5 h 45 min at 18 breaths a minute in its product sheet. Higher settings and faster breathing shorten it; two-battery packs are available.
Can it be used in Gulf heat?
GCE specifies operation from 5 to 40 °C and storage from −20 to 60 °C. Keep it in its carry bag, in shade and out of parked cars, with the vents clear.
Was there a recall?
In May 2025 Ohio Medical, GCE's US distributor, recalled 36 US units with specific serial numbers for a calibration error affecting the low-purity alarm. Units outside that serial range were not affected; ask us to confirm serials on supplied stock.
