One stroke, no discomfort
The probe slides across the forehead to the hairline, with a touch behind the ear if the forehead is damp. Nothing enters the mouth, ear or rectum, so sleeping children are not disturbed.

No probe covers required

TAT-5000S or TAT-2000C+?
The TAT-5000S is the professional model: industrial-duty casing, LED display, ±0.1 °C clinical accuracy, about 15,000 readings per battery and a lifetime warranty, with connected variants for patient monitors. The TAT-2000C+ is the home model with memory, a backlit display and a three-year warranty.
What happened to the TAT-2000C?
Exergen has replaced it with the TAT-2000C+, an upgraded home model with an eight-reading memory, a soft-glow display and a silent mode. Outside the USA the home model is sold as TAT-2000C-EC TempoTherm.
Does it need probe covers?
No. The probe is cleaned with alcohol between patients. Exergen offers disposable caps for wards whose infection-control policy calls for them.
Will it work in Gulf heat?
Exergen specifies operation from 16 to 40 °C for the TAT-5000S and storage from −20 to 50 °C. Bring the thermometer into the room where it will be used and let it settle before measuring; it shows HI A when the room is too warm.
