Equivital

Heat strain, seen early.

The eq02+ LifeMonitor combines a breathable sensor belt with a small Sensor Electronics Module (SEM) that processes, stores and transmits data. It records two-lead ECG, heart rate, breathing rate, skin temperature, body position and falls, and receives core temperature from a compatible ingestible capsule. In the Black Ghost system, a core temperature estimation algorithm can be used instead of the capsule, and a Heat Strain Index shows the current level and a 15-minute prediction so supervisors can step in early.

Why the eq02+ LifeMonitor

A 15-minute warning

Black Ghost scores heat strain on a Heat Strain Index and adds a 15-minute prediction, so supervisors can rehydrate or rest a team member before limits are reached.

Core temperature, two ways

Use a compatible ingestible capsule logged by the SEM, or Black Ghost's core temperature estimation algorithm when a capsule is not practical.

Clinical-grade signals

Two-lead 256 Hz ECG, breathing rate from an integrated respiratory sensor, infrared skin temperature and a tri-axis accelerometer for posture, activity and falls.

Stores and streams

8 GB on the module keeps the full record; Class 1 Bluetooth sends live data up to 100 m to a phone or computer.

Built for hard work

IPX7 module, breathable washable belt, operation from −10 to +50 °C, and an intrinsically safe EX version for explosive atmospheres.

Where it is used

Military training and deployment, CBRN and hazmat teams, first responders, industrial heat-stress programmes, sports science and clinical research.

In the box

eq02+ LifeMonitor sensor belt and Sensor Electronics Module; docking, charging and software (Black Ghost, eqView) are configured to the order. Core temperature capsules and ancillary sensors are separate. Pack sizes and configurations are confirmed with the quotation.

Questions

Is the eq02+ LifeMonitor available in the UAE and the GCC?

KGG sources the eq02+ LifeMonitor and Black Ghost on request for defence, civil defence, industrial and research organisations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. It is supplied subject to registration in each destination country, and availability is confirmed with each quotation.

How do I get a price?

Add the eq02+ LifeMonitor to your quote list or use Request a quote. We reply with pricing, lead time and the documents for your country, and can include Black Ghost software, belts in each size and capsules.

Does it need an ingestible pill to estimate core temperature?

No. With Black Ghost, a core temperature estimation algorithm can be used instead of the pill. A compatible capsule remains the direct option; independent studies report the estimate can differ from rectal temperature, so set protocols with your medical lead.

How long does the battery last on a shift?

About 48 hours with all module data recorded, or 18 hours with the core temperature receiver on. An external pack with two AA lithium cells extends this to about 150 or 60 hours.

Can it be used in Gulf heat?

Equivital rates the module for operation from −10 to +50 °C and 0–95% humidity, non-condensing, with IPX7 protection. Above 50 °C ambient, keep spare modules shaded and check the operating limits.

What is the EX version?

The EX eq02+ LifeMonitor is an intrinsically safe version with an anti-static belt, certified ATEX, ETL Class I Div 1 and IECEx, for oil and gas, mining and other explosive atmospheres.
