Buzzy pairs patented M-Stim mechanical vibration with a frozen ice wing. It is placed on the site for 30–60 seconds, then moved just above it, with the switch facing away, while the needle goes in. The Healthcare models are built for multi-patient use and are wiped with alcohol or chlorhexidine between patients. It is FDA 510(k) cleared to control pain associated with needle procedures and for temporary relief of minor injuries.

Mini Healthcare or XL Healthcare?
The Mini is compact, has constant and pulse settings and switches off after 3 minutes, which suits vaccinations and short procedures. The XL runs continuously on a manual switch for longer procedures or multiple needle sticks.
How long do the ice wings stay cold?
Freeze the wings solid; Pain Care Labs says they stay frozen for about 10 minutes at room temperature. Keep a set in the freezer for each session.
Can it be used between patients?
Yes, the Healthcare models are designed for multi-patient use. The unit and wings are wiped with alcohol or chlorhexidine wipes between patients.
Is it suitable for children?
Buzzy is widely used for children's vaccinations; Pain Care Labs states the Personal model is suitable from 18 months of age. Follow the instruction manual for placement.
