D-Heart
A 12-lead ECG, in your pocket.
D-Heart is a small wireless front-end with four colour-coded leads that clips to disposable electrodes and streams the ECG to the D-Heart app on iOS or Android. Patients can record an 8-lead trace on their own, guided by an augmented-reality feature that uses the phone camera to show where each electrode goes; a full 12-lead trace is recommended for clinicians or patients helped by a caregiver. The app shows heart rate and PR and QRS intervals, and traces can be shared with a doctor or sent to D-Heart's optional telecardiology service for a cardiologist report. It is CE marked as a class IIa device under the EU MDR.
Key specifications
Why the D-Heart
Eight or twelve leads
Choose an 8-lead trace that patients can record on their own, or a full 12-lead resting ECG for clinical use, from the same pocket-sized device.
Electrodes placed right
The app's augmented-reality guide photographs the chest and shows where each electrode belongs, reducing placement errors in self-recorded 8-lead ECGs.
Cardiologist on call
Traces can go to the user's own doctor or to D-Heart's optional telecardiology service, which returns a cardiologist-signed report within 15 minutes using prepaid credits.
Clinically tested
In a study of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, D-Heart traces were compared with standard 12-lead ECGs for both 8- and 12-lead recordings, including self-acquired traces.
Made for travel
A soft case with built-in wireless charger, a lanyard and at least 24 hours of battery make it easy to carry between clinics and home visits.
Where it is used
Hospitals, GP offices, pharmacies, home care and telemedicine programmes, for adults at risk of or living with heart disease.

Is it a true 12-lead ECG?
Yes, the app can record a 12-lead trace as well as an 8-lead trace. Strena Medical recommends that 12-lead recordings are made by experienced users, or by patients helped by a caregiver or health professional.
Does the app interpret the ECG?
No. The app shows the trace with heart rate, PR and QRS intervals; traces must be read by a qualified professional. Users can share them with their own doctor or use D-Heart's optional paid telecardiology service.
Which phones does it work with?
iPhone 7 or newer with iOS 12 or later, and Android 8 or later phones and tablets. It is not compatible with iOS 13.4 or Huawei Lite phones; D-Heart keeps an updated compatibility list on its website.
Can it be stored in Gulf heat?
Store it between −20 and 30 °C and use it between 10 and 35 °C, so keep it indoors and out of parked cars. After cold storage, allow 60 minutes to reach operating temperature.
